Inovix Image SDK

Is a complete imaging SDK especially designed for biometric applications. Includes support for the standard biometric image formats used to store fingerprints, face, iris and signature images as well as world class image manipulation routines. Built for OEMs, VARs and developers who want to easily integrate imaging technology into existing and new applications. Supports: BMP, JPEG 2000, RAW and WSQ(*) formats and high precision image resizing and rotation routines.

(*) - The FBI has certified that this implementation meets the accuracy requirements in the Wavelet Scalar Quantization (WSQ) Gray-Scale Fingerprint Image Compression version 3.1. WSQ Implementation Number 10310.

Features:

• The Wavelet Scalar Quantization (WSQ) Gray-scale Fingerprint Image Compression/Decompression Algorithm is the standard for the exchange of 8-bit, 500ppi fingerprint images. It is used extensively by the FBI and other agencies within the criminal justice community for storing and sharing images of fingerprints. WSQ achieves very high compression rates, with a minimal loss of quality and without significantly affecting fingerprint matching performance.
  

• Supported JP2 format. JP2 is a profile (usage subset) of the ISO/IEC 15444-1 JPEG 2000 image compression standard. Developed for storage of 1000ppi fingerprints also known as WSQ1000 (or like imagery such as palm or footprints) as well as facial, SMT, iris and signature images. Can be used to insert image data records into into ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000 and ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2007 file formats. In addition can be used for medical imaging and digital archiving applications. 
  

• High precision image resizing and rotation. Modern programming languages (C#, Java, etc...) contain modules for image resizing and rotation but the accuracy and fidelity of those packages is not suited for biometric applications were precision and detail preservation is important. A comparative study examining resizing and rotation results between Inovix Image SDK and existing alternatives is available.
  

How to use - each operation requires one simple process:

1.   Just one function call to convert from RAW or BMP to WSQ or JPEG 2000 format.
2.   Just one function call to convert from WSQ or JPEG 2000 to RAW or BMP format.
3.   Just one function call to re-size or rotate a RAW image buffer.

 

Typically Inovix Image SDK is used in the following scenarios:

• Biometric capture station: store the captured biometric data in WSQ or JPEG 2000 image format.
  
• Use the high precision image resizing and rotation routines for image registration or conversion to the required resolution.

Inovix SDK pricing model has 4 components:

1. Per seat Software Development Kit + first year upgrades. In short: Inovix Inc. sells to Licensee a nonexclusive, non-transferable license under the Intellectual Property Rights to use the Library Files of the Inovix SDK solely to develop and distribute the Licensee Application(s). The run-time deployment of Inovix SDK run-time under this license is controlled on a per seat bases.

2. Run-time free/ Royalty free License + first year upgrades. In short: Inovix Inc. sells to Licensee a non-exclusive, transferable only in full license, under the Intellectual Property Rights to distribute the Inovix SDK embedded into the Licensee Application(s) to an unlimited number of computers. This license has the advantage that the Inovix SDK will run on any computer (server or client) with  no need for a special registration procedure. Package the Inovix SDK library with your application, send it to your client and everything will work right away.

3. Per year upgrade cost of 18% for year 2 and beyond. Licensee will receive Inovix Image SDK upgrades and improvements - expect one upgrade per year.

4. Custom Support $250/h or $1000/day + travel expenses.
